Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by to check out this post, it means a lot. Today I’m going to be answering all of your makeup questions from Instagram! I recently posted on my story and asked for my followers to submit any questions they have about makeup application/products/reviews. I got a lotttt of responses and today I’m going to be sharing some of my favorites! I hope you enjoy this post and find it helpful.
What is your favorite foundation?
My favorite foundation is the Photo Focus Foundation from Wet’N’Wild! It’s an incredible foundation – not just for an affordable product but for foundation in general. You can use a damp sponge for a sheer application or a brush if you like it a little more full-coverage! The only downside is the smell – it reminds me of the overwhelming waft of chemicals that hits you whenever you walk into a nail salon. However, it fades after a few seconds of applying it to your face. I’m pretty sensitive to strong smells but have never gotten a headache from this, so I don’t think you have to worry about that if you’re headache-prone as well.
What are your go-to brands?
I’ve found that I’m rarely let down by products from Wet’n’Wild, ColourPop, or ABH. I’ve had a few misses with them but overall I’ve had a great experience! I know that when I purchase from them I’m most likely going to enjoy the product.
How do you use blush and bronzer without truly contouring?
That’s a great question! I use bronzer and blush daily but never really “contour”. I use a big fluffy brush to apply bronzer under the cheekbones and around the forehead, making sure to blend it out well. Don’t go crazy with an overly dark bronzer either – when in doubt, go for a more cool-toned bronzer that isn’t too orange. We don’t want an imitation of Donald Trump’s spray tan.
As for blush, I go for lighter, more nude colors so they don’t show up too intensely. I pat it onto the apples of my cheeks with a smaller brush, then take a bigger brush to blend it out into my bronzer. This creates a seamless, realistic looking flush.
What is your advice for prom makeup?
Go for either a bold lip or a bold eye – if you do both, they will end up competing for attention.
If your dress has cool-toned colors in it, try an eyeshadow look with greys, silvers, and light purples/blues. You can pair this with a mauve lip or even just a clear gloss! This would be very elegant and classy.
If your dress is more warm-toned, try browns, oranges, and golds. This would look nice with a nude lip with a fun shimmery gloss popped in the center for some drama.
If you want to go for a bold lip color like red, purple, black, etc, go easy with the eyeshadow. A simple brown in the crease and a thin winged liner would be enough to bring definition to the eye, but not too much so that it would compete with the lip.
You’re going to want your makeup to last through a night of dancing, eating, and talking, so be sure to use long-lasting products and a good setting spray. Matte products are best because they don’t show oil coming through as quickly. In your purse, carry some pressed powder to cover up shine, extra lipstick for touch-ups, and blotting pads to absorb excess oil.
I hope you have the BEST time at prom!
What is your favorite highlighter?
Ohhh, this is a tough one! My favorite high-end highlighter is probably the Tarte Amazonian Clay Highlighter in Stunner, and my favorite drugstore highlighter is the ELF Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls. The ELF one is beautiful, but you have to scrape off the top layer to get any pigmentation out of it. The extra effort is completely worth it, though!
What is your favorite mascara?
The Maybelline Total Temptation Waterproof Mascara is my ride-or-die!

What products are in your everyday makeup routine?
I don’t wear a ton of makeup on an everyday basis, but I do have some favorite products that I can’t live without in my makeup routine.
- Concealer under eyes and on blemishes – Tarte Shape Tape Concealer
- Powder on concealer – No7 Perfect Light Loose Powder
- Bronzer under cheekbones, forehead, and in eyelid crease – Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
- Blush on cheeks and blended into bronzer – Benefit “Gold Rush” Box of Powder
- Highlighter on top of cheekbones and nose – ELF Baked Highlighter in “Moonlight Pearls”
- Brow Gel – ABH Clear Brow Gel (I have naturally thick brows so I don’t fill them in very often)
- Curl Lashes – ELF Eyelash Curler
- Mascara – Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara
- Finishing Spray – Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Mist
This takes me about 15 minutes to complete and I love how natural it looks. It just makes me feel more confident and put-together.
